Travertine tile is a type of stone tiles made of sedimentary stone of travertine that typically contains a mixture of minerals from the environment in which they form together with calcium carbonate and has a rough texture with many holes that are created by living organisms trapped in the rock or by air bubbles. Travertine tile comes with various types of finishes ranging from travertine tile, honed travertine tile, and tumbled travertine tile. Tumbled travertine is one type of travertine tile that is brushed and has a more natural look even though most rugged of the three types of travertine tile.
If we want to apply this tile types, then we cannot apply it in the kitchen because the tumbled travertine tile susceptible to acid, which in turn can damage the tiles. To be durable and long lasting, before the application is done, it is better to sealing the tiles so that in advance it will be protected from many things including acidic fluids, moisture, and outdated.
For tumbled travertine tile treatment, we can do some cleanup actions as follows: (1) Make sure we clean up all the dirt with a soft broom or vacuum cleaner that does not make it scratched. (2) Prepare warm water, a sponge, and a drop of detergent. Wash the entire surface with soapy water and rinse with clean water. Dry with a soft cloth or towel. Do not use products containing acid because it will only make the surface tile looks dull. Immediately clean the surface of the tile if we find there is a spill on it.
